Winter into Spring
With winter weather in the Upper Mid West and North East, my travel has been limited, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I typically talk on the phone with each missionary once a month for about a half hour. Cabin fever has allowed our usually busy missionaries time to think and talk. Through many lengthy and thought-provoking conversations, the last couple months has given me great opportunities to build relationships with the missionaries I serve. Despite the weather both Lisa and I managed to take a few trips. In January I preached at an InFaith church in Michigan called Day Bible where they are currently looking for a pastor. After the service, I worked with their search committee in preparing a job description and scheduling InFaith missionaries to fill the pulpit. In March Lisa and I were able to visit two missionaries in North Carolina. Jan Spiess is InFaith's National Prayer Director. We had a wonderful time hearing about her prayer ministry. Jan also runs a weekly ladies' Bible study. We also visited Dana Carr who works for an underserved Christian school where most tuition is less than a $100 a year. She also runs a faith-based afterschool tutoring program for her underserved neighborhood. Both ladies are ministering in their communities and sharing the gospel every day. With less travel, I have been able to serve our local church more. Even though we have only been there for less than a year, they have allowed me to serve with both their worship and youth ministries. I work with youth twice a week, have a guy's discipleship group of about 10, work with the youth worship team, and have lead worship for the main service twice. As the weather begins to warm up, my life has become even more busy. I am already scheduled to speak at three InFaith youth camps over the summer. I have a big trip in June that will take me up to Wisconsin and into Michigan where I will be visiting 10 missionaries and speaking at a camp. Please also be praying for a trip to San Antonio Texas in April, and Spokane WA in May. For those in Spokane, I look forward to sharing at Northview Bible May 5th and 6th. Thank all of you so much for your continued prayer and support.
